A lesson on Hope~~ Susie Austin

Hope is like a bird that senses the dawn and carefully starts to sing while it is still dark.

What beautiful way to define hope. While I was searching for the right quote this morning I was planning on talking on something completely different until I saw this quote on hope.

I decided to see what Merriam-Webster defines hope as:
To cherish a desire with anticipation, while Dictionary.com defines it as:
The feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best:

What a wonderful way to start the day, with the hopes and dreams for the future. I think a little part of everyone dies when they stop dreaming and give up hope.

The amazing thing is this, no matter who you are, no matter where you are in life right now there is and can be hope!

To me this is very exciting as we can give others hope as well, by encouraging words, by supporting others and by having compassion and giving hope to those people in our lives. When you do this you will also find yourself moving forward with your hopes and dreams as well. Having hope can give us the motivation to move forward.

Can you remember a time when you felt hopeless? How did you come out of it and what did you learn? I think part of what I learned that nothing is hopeless if do not give up or if we accept the situation for what it is.

Let’s look at something simple as an athletic team. Maybe it hopeless they were going to win the game but they learned the sport better, they learned how to have good sportsmanship, and they learned you can not always win. Taking this a step further they immediately have hope for future games. Now lets look at our life, failure is a part of life and when learn our life lessons it gives us hope for the future and a better perspective on how to live our lives and hopefully not make the same mistakes more than once.

I personally believe hope is a human value along with love and faith. These values can be the driving force propelling you toward success. Feel the wind in your face, listen to the birds sing and never forget to have hope for your future. Please remember to be an example and give hope to those who surround you.

  3. Hi Susie…it’s “coachdana”. I hope everything is going wonderfully well for you and your beautiful children. I think of all of you quite a bit. My father (you sent him flowers once while he was in the hospital..he never forgot)..died after suffering tirelessly with his cancer and heart attacks..just thought you might like knowing this.

Take care…may you continue to be the beautiful beacon of love, hope, and promise for the future that you have always been.
