The Truth about lies~~~ Susie Austin

If you tell the truth you don’t have to remember anything. Mark Twain

I am being totally honest with you today by telling you this is just a brief blog on honesty, as this is a huge subject to be talking about. Some people pride themselves on being brutally honest. Honesty is more than telling the truth. It means knowing what the truth is and being courageous enough to communicate it. Lying is changing the facts, most people lie when they are afraid of the consequences of telling the truth.

Along with this comes the ability to be sensitive when you share the truth with others. I feel timing is very important in every situation.

Having given you a very short description of honesty and lying I would like for you to focus on who you are today. Are you being honest with yourself? Are authentic in how you think? This can get confusing because there are people who actually believe what they say and what they say is a lie. For those people I suggest extensive counseling but they need someone to honestly explain to them they need it. 🙂

On the more serious side I invite you today to think of honesty in many ways and what the benefits are. I feel honesty is exhilarating and freeing. With honesty comes courage, as it takes real courage to say how you feel in spite of your fear. Honesty shows maturity as there can often be pain that comes with honesty. Honesty eliminates baggage, being honest from the start in any relationship will prevent undue stress and the build up of emotional garbage. Honesty will keep you out of trouble as everyone knows how easy it is to dig yourself into a hole by lying. It is just easier not to even go there.

I am sure everyone can think of someone in their life you just can not believe anything they say or if you want something to get around you make sure you tell that person?

Here are some questions I would like you to consider today. Are you trustworthy? Do you follow through on your promises? Is your behavior dependable? Do you have a tendency to exaggerate? Do you take responsibility for your mistakes? Are you a good friend and to you treat others with respect?

Remember we are all a work in progress and no one is perfect at all times. This is the beauty of life,we work to improve ourselves and make our world and the world around us just a little better. Think of the kindest and most honest person you know.  Is possible for you to have the courage and honesty to tell that person you feel this way? Maybe consider this a person a good mentor or role model.

Strive to better yourself just a little everyday.

  1. We live in a world of deception. It started in the Garden and continues today. Honesty and accountability go hand-in-hand. When your word is your bond, you can go into negative situations with your head held erect and even deceivors will notice the truth coming thru. And, they tend to honor that.
Trust is a basic commodity that we have lost because of dishonesty, not only in the business world, that started the ball rolling, but, it has gravitated into the family relationships as well.
We need to be people who hold on to honesty as we would a 10carat diamond, tho honesty is more valuable.
