Creative Thinking~~~~~ Susie Austin

Dale Carnegie:

Remember happiness doesn’t depend upon who you are or what you have; it depends solely on what you think.

Ever hear the term “stinking thinking”? I think we all have been guilty of this at one time. The trick is to keep your mind positive and stay focused on positive thoughts and ideas. This is a very difficult task and at times can be impossible because human nature won’t allow us to be positive all the time.

Today I suggest using creative thinking. When you use creative thinking it allows you to deviate from your past thinking habits. Once you break away from past way of thinking you can then generate new ideas, new solutions and thinking patterns.

One of the most helpful ways in which to generate new ideas is brainstorming. Effective brainstorming involves basic principles.

Generate as many ideas as possible. Brainstorm with friends; look for as many ideas as you can. The more ideas generated the better the chance of solutions. This is the law of probability in play here

Avoid making judgments; never make judgments as nothing kills creative thinking faster than being judgmental. Ask yourself how can this be done instead of why wont this work?

Write down ideas; The brain cant keep track of every idea you have so it is very important to write ideas down, This not only allows you to translate them from a mental idea it becomes a concrete reality. It helps you remember ideas, speeds up your thinking  helps keep you focused and leaves you open to reevaluate and change the general idea.

Elaborate every idea; my suggestion is to carry a notebook with you at all times and write every idea and solutions to problems as soon as they occur. If you are anything like me the ideas are forgotten quite quickly. Keeping a notebook will allow you to revise, and change ideas as needed but if you don’t write them down the may be lost forever.

Creative thinking is a process but it is very simple to begin and has great benefits. Once you begin to think this way you will start to develop positive energy and may find you are becoming more motivated and happy.
