Go to Your Happy PLace~~~~Susie Austin

Life moves pretty fast.

If you don’t stop and

look around once in a while,

 you could miss it.

Imagine the sun on your face as it begins to set over the ocean while you gaze at the silhouette of a young couple walking hand in hand along the shoreline in the distance. Hear the sound of the surf and feel the calm ocean breezes on your face as you close your eyes you are completely relaxed and at peace with yourself and the world. Consider a little get away in your mind where you can go when the need arises.

Today is a perfect day to write this as last week I wrote the above paragraph and decided to save it for the right day. I was on a balcony overlooking the ocean in Florida. Today I am home as my work was canceled because of a major winter storm where we are expected to have an accumulation of 12 to 20 inches of snow. Although I love the sun the surf and the warm weather, there is something to be said about the beauty of the snow and how majestic the trees look blanked in white as long as I don’t have to drive in it.

We are aware we live in difficult times, but we also live in marvelous times full of wonder and opportunity. We have the ability to explore and see many new and exciting things. Document where you go as this gives you the ability to go to your happy place and relax for awhile when the need arises.

My suggestion today is to plan your life and live your plan, but most importantly enjoy the journey. Are there times when you are dreading the day before you, knowing there will be difficulties and trials? The key once again is attitude and how you choose to approach the day. Do you consider life an adventure? Do you wake up and make a conscious decision to have an awesome day.  I frequently pinky swear with my daughter to have an amazing day and carry it through to the evening when we are home.

God in his infinite wisdom has created a beautiful world for us to work, play and explore. When was the last time you had an adventure? It doesn’t have to be in the form of a long trip, but if you can I highly recommend it. Consider everyday adventures and begin to live them with passion and the joy that was meant for you.

I just may build a snowman or create a few snow angels today, how about you?
