Pay it Forward~~~~Susie Austin

I guess it’s hard for people who are so used to things the way

they are – even if they’re bad – to change. ‘Cause they kind of

give up. And when they do, everybody kind of loses.

Trevor McKinney, from the movie Pay it Forward

I watched the movie Pay It Forward today, which always makes me cry. If you have never seen this movie I highly recommend it. The plot centers on an assignment given in a seventh grade social studies class. The assignment was to think of something to change the world and put it into action. Trevor has the idea of pay it forward–repaying good deeds not with payback, but with new good deeds done to three new people, pay it forward. Trevor’s efforts to pay it forward has changes to many others lives. It is a wonderful movie but don’t forget to bring your tissues.

When was the last time you have done something for someone else without expecting anything or even better with no one knowing you have done it?

Our lives revolve around change but it is the fear of the unknown, the fear of failure or in some cases the fear of success.

I suggest to look at yourself and think of what positive changes you can make in your life and what changes you might be able to do to make someone else’s life a little bit better.

Never give up, never settle for what you have instead of striving for what you want and always know that you can be happy.  Pay forward a smile, a helping hand, love for others and don’t be afraid of change for this will make us all better in the long run.

  1. helping others is the most amazing feeling in the world for me…and i just get sooo excited when I can do something for someone else and they have no idea it’s coming. The element of surprise is key. And it’s even better when you get surprised when you least expect it. But it’s important I think to make sure you are doing some little things for yourself to keep rejuvinated and able to be there for others. So in paying it forward, be sure to hold the doors for others, to call old friends, to send out cards to unexpecting people, and to smile at every passing face!!!
