Little Kindnesses~~~Susie Austin

Amelia Earhart

No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves.

Yesterday I was talking about six deposits in your emotional bank, and I would like to talk about the little things. They are little things you do to make others feel good. In families and relationships the little things are actually big. Do you remember a time when someone did something for you without you knowing? I don’t have to tell you how it felt as I am sure you know the feeling. How do you feel when you do kind things for others?

I have a good example today; I was facilitating a group and one of the participants had exciting news to share, There was a person struggling with self confidence issues, instead of focusing on her news she spent her time building the self confidence of the person struggling, Have you ever had one think of you in this way? It takes a wonderful and kind person to have put someone else’s needs before your own.

Since it is spring I think it is a wonderful time to plant those seeds, spread those roots, and show kindness where ever you go.
