Persistence Is Essential~~~Susie Austin

“The most essential factor is persistence –

 the determination never to allow

your energy or enthusiasm to be dampened

by the discouragement that must inevitably come.”

James Whitcomb Riley

Persistence is essential in achieving your dreams and goals, we must always understand there will be setbacks, we prepare for them and have a strategy for dealing with them.

Success is a process that involves change, accomplishment and setbacks. One of the most popular models of change is actuality circular in nature documenting how people typically move through cycles of making decisions, making progress, suffering setbacks and back to re-evaluate and refine their initial decision.

Using weight loss as an example we may go through this process many times. Having a strategy for setbacks will help minimize negative effects. We understand there will be slips along the way. We take steps to remove temptation and prevent the little slips from turning into complete setbacks. This process is true in anything you are striving to achieve in life.

Setbacks are inevitable, it is necessary to learn from them, it is necessary to not beat yourself up over minor failures, and it is necessary to celebrate your success or at least recognize them.

Stays focused on your goals and understand setbacks are all a part of the process. Persistence is a key factor in achieving success and accomplishments. Believe in yourself and your ability to overcome obstacles, move forward with enthusiasm and determination to achieving your dreams.
