Replace Negative With Positive Thoughts~~~Susie Austin

“Once you replace negative

thoughts with positive ones,

you’ll start having positive results.”

Willie Nelson

What a concept! Simple to say however it is much easier said than done.  How do you replace the negative thoughts? The first step I believe is awareness, how often do we have negative thoughts? Take the next few days and write down all the negative thoughts, discussions and words you are having. You may be surprised at how many negative thoughts you are actually having. Do you ever daydream in the negative?

How do you change to have positive thoughts? There are a few tips I would like to share with you. In order to think in positive you have to begin to believe in positive. Use positive affirmations and visual signs such as smiley faces and cute signs to help you become aware of your thoughts. Visualize your live the way you way would like it to be. Daydream about it and create a mental picture of you living a positive and happy life. When negative things start to happen go to your happy place and your happy thoughts, train your brain to stay away from the negative thoughts.

Try to not be overstressed and remember to relax and enjoy life. Being positive is a decision you can make on a daily basis and when you do your life will be happier and more fulfilling.

  1. Affirmations are SO powerful. They will retrain and reprogram your mind. The amount of time it takes will depend on how you utilize them.

You can be a positive person, a positive thinker but you have to train your mind. Emphasis on ‘train’ there. I’ve found that creating new thought habits isn’t as hard as I originally thought. I now use technology to use affirmations – this eliminates the need for self discipline which is difficult to establish if one is short on it. By technology I mean an iPod or CD player.
