Life, Dreams, and Moving Forward~~Susie Austin

Life is like a taxi.

The meter just keeps a-ticking

whether you are getting

somewhere or just standing still.

Many times in moments of being discouraged, depressed or things are not going the way you would like it to be, it’s easy to feel your life is going nowhere or that you are not able to change or change is not possible. Good news, it just is not true!

Take a little time and reflect over your life. You will see a lot of growth from childhood on. Do you remember when you were a child and you figured out answers to life’s problems? Do you remember thinking the world would end if you didn’t have your way?

You see growth in all the formative areas of your life. Life has taken you on quite a ride, hasn’t it?

Many times we reflect on the difficult times, however, today I would like you to reflect on all life’s experiences. What did you learn from the difficult times and how have you grown to become a better person because of them? Think of the top ten best things that happened in your life and remember how you felt at that exact moment in time.

When you become discouraged remember this temporary. It is NOT a question of IF it will get better, it IS going to be better. Knowing this makes it easier to handle the difficult times.

Do you remember being asked what you wanted to be when you grow up?  What if I asked you this question now? What would it take to live the life of your dreams? Maybe starting to dream again is the first step. How do YOU want to spend the rest of your life?

  1. This was a nice brain refresher, thank you.

At the time I detested those most difficult moments. I wanted them to go away. In retrospect, I would not wish them away if I could. A friend pointed out that these “bad” events can be leveraged in our life, if we choose. We can use them as catalysts that allow us to bring more light to others than we could have without them.

    Best wishes
