Defeat is Only Temporary~~~Susie Austin

Being defeated is only

a temporary condition;

giving up is what

makes it permanent.

As you reflect upon your life, how many times have you fallen down? Did you pick yourself up each time and say you will try again? Regardless whether is the first the fifteenth or the thirty second attempt you need to keep on going. Your goals may not come easy, there is no accomplishment with work and there is no triumph without something to beat.

It’s easy and natural to become discouraged, you may have spent a lot of time and energy on the perfect plan and something happened to ruin it. This is where you need to pick yourself up, brush off, put a Band-Aid on the wound, and figure out a new plan to accomplish your goal. Sometimes all you have to do is get back up and move forward, however this may seem intimidating. Overcome these obstacles by facing your fears and moving forward, once your there your goal won’t seem so daunting. Keep moving forward and take steps toward accomplishing your goals. You may only take a few steps at a time and you may have a number of walls and obstacles to face but remember you are closer than the last try.

This is success, remember to enjoy the journey along the way, and don’t get discouraged when you have minor setbacks. Opportunity is ours and life is what we make it, smile and enjoy the ride.

  1. AS I read your blog, I think of the example of a child learning to walk. If they never fell, they would never learn how to regain their balance. It’s a wonderful metaphor for the challenges which we all face in life.

  2. I disagree.

    You are never defeated until you give up.

    Battles may have good or poor outcomes at the moment, but they are not the War itself.

    Shake it off, move on.

    Learn, change as needed and win the war.
